Overview:

The STAR Program Connection Conference is an exciting live event that is designed to support all STAR Programs as leaders in high-quality cancer rehabilitation and survivorship care. The conference is focused on building a best practices cancer rehabilitation service line with an emphasis on screening procedures, increasing referrals, facilitating documentation, improving reimbursement and tracking and demonstrating excellent outcomes. The conference is designed to support the initial and subsequent growth of STAR Programs from an operational and outcomes perspective. The course will bring together many members of STAR Program Steering Committee as well as others. All members of STAR Program Leadership Teams are encouraged to attend. Also encouraged to attend are other members of your STAR Program Team including leaders in oncology, rehabilitation and survivorship. Researchers as well as other key people dedicated to improving cancer care in STAR Program certified facilities are welcome. The STAR Program is an evidence-based model for cancer rehabilitation care that focuses on high-quality cancer care with improvements in referrals and revenue, patient function, patient satisfaction and clinician education. This conference is designed to boost the existing efforts of all certified facilities by providing lectures given by cancer rehabilitation experts as well as healthcare professionals from successful STAR Programs, highly interactive workshops and many networking opportunities to facilitate the exchange of important information among STAR Programs.

Objectives:

  1. Develop key strategies to increase referrals to cancer rehabilitation services.
  2. Improve marketing/communications strategies to support the survivorship service line.
  3. Identify how and when to screen for physical and psychological impairments.
  4. Increase reimbursement for cancer rehabilitation and prehabilitation services.
  5. Track and report improved outcomes in cancer rehabilitation and survivorship care.
  6. Overcome operational barriers to the cancer rehabilitation and survivorship programs.
  7. Engage physicians and others to support cancer rehabilitation care.
  8. Further develop all aspects of the STAR Program as a best practices model in cancer rehabilitation care.

*All professionals from facilities that have signed up for the STAR Program are invited to this conference. STAR Program Coordinators are strongly encouraged to attend as well as key STAR Clinicians® and STAR Providers™ who support the operational objectives of the programs. Leaders in survivorship care are also welcome and encouraged to attend. This interdisciplinary conference is also for administrators, referral coordinators, marketing personnel, mental health professionals, outcomes coordinators, quality directors, reserachers and marketing/communication directors and others who are involved in the support of STAR Programs.
