St. Peter’s Earns STAR Program® Certification

St. Peter’s is the first in the state of Montana to offer first-rate cancer rehabilitation services for survivors after earning STAR Program Certification from the Massachusetts-based Oncology Rehab Partners, leading experts in the field of survivorship care. This certification uniquely qualifies St. Peter’s to offer premium Oncology Rehabilitation Services to survivors who suffer from debilitating side effects caused by treatments.

Specialty caregivers from a pool of disciplines—including physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech pathologists, dietitians, and mental health professionals—are all working together with each patient on a personalized rehabilitation plan to increase strength and energy, alleviate pain, and improve daily function and quality of life.

“I am very proud of our associates who studied and worked hard to establish STAR Program Certification at St. Peter’s,” stated President & CEO Nate Olson. “St. Peter’s is committed to providing cancer survivors with the latest best practice cancer care and rehabilitation.”

To receive its certification, selected staff at St. Peter’s completed 40 hours of training on the STAR Program’s conventional medicine and evidence-based standardized model of oncology rehabilitation service delivery. These services are typically covered by health insurance providers and are being offered to patients by medical professionals specially trained to work with survivors with all forms of cancer.

STAR Program Certification from Oncology Rehab Partners provides hospitals and cancer centers with the tools needed to quickly and effectively implement an exceptional survivorship care plan.
